My background in yoga started after I closed the chapter in my life where I had no sense of self and decided to commit to Beth’s teacher training certification. I not only had my inner world rocked, I also became more aware of the humans and feelings around me. I took this certification class with no expectations to teach, then with all the tools I have learned about being human, I couldn’t help but want to share my knowledge with others.
The flavor I bring to the Idayoga family all depends on the classes I’m teaching and my students that walk in the door. I tend to teach in a way that focuses on the messy middle. It’s a focus on what can I feel or choose not to feel during our transitions, how does my body react or adjust to get where I’m asking it to go. I try to be as honest as I can in class and teach what is real and relevant.
The gifts yoga has given me are more than I can elegantly put into words. To me, yoga has deepened my body, mind, and spiritual connection within my core. It has also taught me to slow down, not be afraid to breathe or feel, and that I’m not alone.
